jumper - primark / shirt - american apparel / jeans - topshop / shoes - charity shop (originally m&s) / sunglasses - h&m

been looking for the perfect mint jumper for so long now, finally found this beaut in a charity shop for £2 the label is primark so I think i'm going to have to check out the jumpers in the oxford street one when i get back to london (as brightons isn't up to scratch) to stock up for winter!

didn't take any other outfit photos this weekend as I was deep conditioning my hair for most of it after getting bored and bleaching it again, will write a post complete with pictures soon

hair, there, everywhere - care

not much of a hair expert but having half afro-caribbean hair (maybe more) and having a possible complex where I have to constantly test the impossible by trying to blonde and permanently straighten  my hair has meant I've had to try a lot of products through the years to try and tame my hair.
to give you an example, here are some of the colours i've managed to force and damage my hair into over the past 6 years so you can imagine the kind of stress my naturally dark brown/black hair has been through:

generally I wash my hair once a week give or take a few days as instead of getting greasy it just dries out and sucks up any moisture.

thought i'd do a post on some of  the main products i've been using on my hair since christmas:

1. moroccan oil - treatment oil
got the moroccan oil set for christmas and the treatment oil is still half full. I wish I'd known about it sooner as i swear by it and it is by far one of the best products for my hair. reducing frizz, conditioning and giving shine to my hair, I use it daily. before this I used to deep condition my hair with olive or baby oil but this is a much nicer smelling although pricey alternative but well worth it. it's also available in a version for finer or lighter hair
£20 - £30 - online or in hair salons

2. moroccan oil - moisture repair shampoo
this shampoo was also in the gift set, i've never really paid attention to shampoo as my main focus has always been on conditioning my dry hair, however my hair has never felt softer and looked shinier when teamed with the rest of the products, I tend to use when my hair is in a state as it's nearly run out.
£10 - £20 - online or in hair salons

3. organic root stimulator - olive oil replenishing conditioner
have been using this conditioner for quite some time. it is quite heavy so I mostly use it on the ends of my hairs or as an over night leave-in as it causes my roots to grease up. but it's ideal for use all over on freshly dyed hair.
around £3 - boots

4. dark and lovely - leave-in conditioner,
was introduced to this brand when i used to get my hair relaxed before the days of ghd's, before discovering moroccan oil this was my savour. it's a lot cheaper and can be found in the afro-caribbean hair section in boots.
similar product around £4 - boots

5. touch of silver - shampoo,
have only recently thought about using this although it would of come in handy when i was desperately trying to rid the ginger out of my hair (above) a few years ago. have only used this shampoo a few times after bleaching my hair twice. it has surprisingly worked ok on my hair and have noticed a difference in my naturally brassy toned hair, obviously hasn't left me with ash blonde but i just need to give up on that dream.
£3 - boots

6. moroccan oil - intense hydrating mask
used the last of this product today :( this has lasted me a good 6 months I have used it once every 2 weeks or so and my hair is extra thick so will probably last months more on finer hair. again my hair has never felt softer or shinier, i will definitely be buying again.
£20 - £30 - online or in hair salons

i'm yet to find the perfect heat protection spray, but have been using GHD thermal protection spray usually costs around £10

hair, there, everywhere - outfit

shirt - charity shop / jumper - american apparel / collar tips - goodhood

tee - charity shop / jacket - ebay / bag - mulberry tillie hobo / jeans - cheap monday

rings - bootsale/topshop/ebay

£2 charity shop! (not sure if that's a bargain or not?)

despite the unpredictability of the weather and it's wind I decided to let my hair down (only literally) also I was too lazy to straighten it. after many years of struggling, bleaching and relaxing i've finally got my hair in a good condition from the use of afro-carribean conditioners, moroccan oil and getting a regular trim every 8 weeks. it's not as good as it could be as I have home dyed it about 6 times this year and abused it with the ghd's. i'm going to monitor it and try some new products as well as hair vitamin tablets which I will at some point blog about.

this weekend didn't consist of much due to lack of money except charity shopping, a wander along the beach and a street party. I always feel my hair has to match the outfit so thought i'd go for something a bit grungy/masculine in the camo tee and jacket.

this is one of my fav nail designs at the moment as it's so subtle and easy to do (with a sponge and any two colours) and can be jazzed up with some jewels or drawing.

my outfits seem to be pretty repetitive at the moment as I haven't been doing anything exciting, but hopefully this rain will stop and I can get a bit more free will in my outfit choices as well as FINALLY moving back to London and out of boredom at the end of this month.
